Mike McNellis -
Realtor®, GRI
Mike has lived in Annandale longer (since 1960), and on more area lakes, than any other person in our office. His family roots run deep, beginning just after the Civil War when his great-grandfather homesteaded land in the French Lake area. His family worked in various local trades including farming, construction, and bar & restaurant establishments. His father opened and operated Annandale’s first coin-operated Laundromat.
Mike also enjoyed working a variety of jobs in the area, inlcuding a sales & purchasing position with Truk-Mate Inc. and Truk-Mate Toppers & Truck Accessories. From 1980-88, he owned and operated Annandale Carpet & Appliance. Mike says he considered a career in real estate long before he made the move. When he did, he looked at other companies before deciding Oak would be the strongest, most progressive company to work with. He sees Oak more as a family, than a team. “Everyone pulls together to help one another out…You can’t stay in a bad mood here, no matter how busy or hectic it gets.” He says he loves when “it all comes to together” - finding a home that meets the needs of his clients and knowing he made the process as easy as possible for them.
Mike enjoys spending time with his family: his wife Barb, 2 grown daughters, 1 son-in-law, and a granddaughter and grandson. He also enjoys the company of his Black Lab Lucy. His hobbies include upland bird hunting and ice fishing, and collections associated with both. He’s been a member of countless local clubs and organizations, including the Lake Sylvia Loon Nesting Program, of which he’s been a member since 1987.
